THE DAY WE EXPLORE PUNGGOL BEACH

The morning sky was so clear when the 9 of us headed up to Punggol East. Each steps carried us further away, one foot leaps in front of the other and we carefully surveyed the landscape for sudden twists and turns when we passed thru the deserted 'small road' and sandy trail leading us to Punggol Beach. We were away from the road when most runners put their mileage, away from the city noise and traffics. Hearing only the rythm of our breath and our occassional chatters, we reached the end of the trail, looking far into the Punggol Strait and we were swept away in the scent of rich fresh dewy morning mixed with the aroma of the sea.

We scouted along Punggol Beach until we reached the Jetty and finally we ran thru hilly Punggol Road down to Sengkang with final anticipation to explore the other side of Punggol Beach thru the Track 24 where only a single foot-trail available.

Great Eastern Women 10k (21 Oct 2007)

It was light drizzling morning when I was on my way to the Padang. By the time I reached there, the drizzling had stopped and it was a great cool early morning to anticipate the run. I met up with SGRUNNERS girls, took some pictures before all of us dispersed to take our place in the starting line. Lots - lots of ladies took part in this run, the whole crowd almost filled up the Connaught Drive along the Padang. Music blasted loudly to get the atmosphere really fun. The run route was fine eventhough I was melting in the heat when I reached the u turn point but not until towards the finish line where lots of winding turns around the Singapore river park...a little upsetting as I was thinking where the hell is the end??
In general it was a guite well organised event, lots of drinks, the crowd was flowing nicely, got bananas, ice cream, cereals.... it was FUN......written by Fia

SUNDAY SEPT 9 2007 Training RUN

Mike said...

Yesterday run was a good one for me.

Did a few sets of striding tempo pace intervals of 800m along Punggol Way,central and Punggol East.

Fairly good weather with 7 runners. Halil and James ran on their own as they were slightly late and the main group had already off.....

Little traffic makes the run enjoyable.Sio Hoon joined us for the first time.

William did 11.6 km for the first time and bought us breakfast...
many thanks to William....

Hope everybody had a good stretching down yesterday....

SHAPE RUN 2007

This was the run that most of the ladies had been waiting for, guess not so much for personal achievement, but nontheless all the ladies got up early and were on the move as the goodies were great not to mention also lots of special offers from the Shape's sponsor. All the runners gathered accordingly with the 10k group lined up in front of the 5k group. The flag off started with the bang,...with a fun warm-up from the Planet fitness instructor and cheer leaders' swing. The weather was excellent, not sunny but the atmosphere was very crisp. As the runners hit the street...charging up with so much speed, there were also jogger and fun walker tailing on like a mass of ants' wave along the road.

CSC Interconstituency Run 2007

The heat was on at Bedok Reservoir, weather was so hot, but time to time changed to the cloudy one. The run consisted 2 waves; 1st was for Men's open at 4.15pm, it was steaming hot, but our boys charged with so much power, clocking in with range of 17min to 23 min for the distance of 4.3km. The 2nd was for Veteran Men and Ladies open, the air was better coz it turned to be a little cloudy.

ARMY HALF MARATHON/SHEARES BRIDGE RUN 2007

The yearly event in conjunction with National Day celebration.

We laced up our running shoes and lined up in the starting line for both Army Half Marathon and the 12km Sheares Bridge Run.

All of us was scattered around in the midst of some thousand of runners.

Some of us went for the half marathon and some of us went for the Sheares Bridge 12km run.

Weather was superb, crowd was excellent. And big thumbs up to the management of the traffic.

RUN NUS 2007

The choice was should I sign up or not for this run, as far as I knew not many runners plan to run this run. Ah.. well... some kakis already signed, must as well, on top of that this was going to be my first time being in Kent Ridge park. We headed quite early this morning, reached the area at around 7am, registration booth was not open yet.
It was 730am when they opened the registration table for runners to get their bib no. We planned to run the Men Wave 1, but too bad that they could not slot in me, the girl in the gang. Rules and regulation, women must run in women wave, so I must run in women wave lah, that was flagged off at about 9 plus, so late, there was lots of dili-deli. Run was ok, in fact it was quite a major lung bursting run for me, involving up-down slopes as well as staircases. Thanks to all the boys, they all waited for me. I reached the finish line when the dark cloud started covering the sky. We uploaded ourselves in the car just before the weather turned ugly... so lucky.
