The yearly event in conjunction with National Day celebration.

We laced up our running shoes and lined up in the starting line for both Army Half Marathon and the 12km Sheares Bridge Run.

All of us was scattered around in the midst of some thousand of runners.

Some of us went for the half marathon and some of us went for the Sheares Bridge 12km run.

Weather was superb, crowd was excellent. And big thumbs up to the management of the traffic.

RUN NUS 2007

The choice was should I sign up or not for this run, as far as I knew not many runners plan to run this run. Ah.. well... some kakis already signed, must as well, on top of that this was going to be my first time being in Kent Ridge park. We headed quite early this morning, reached the area at around 7am, registration booth was not open yet.
It was 730am when they opened the registration table for runners to get their bib no. We planned to run the Men Wave 1, but too bad that they could not slot in me, the girl in the gang. Rules and regulation, women must run in women wave, so I must run in women wave lah, that was flagged off at about 9 plus, so late, there was lots of dili-deli. Run was ok, in fact it was quite a major lung bursting run for me, involving up-down slopes as well as staircases. Thanks to all the boys, they all waited for me. I reached the finish line when the dark cloud started covering the sky. We uploaded ourselves in the car just before the weather turned ugly... so lucky.

REFRESHING AFTERNOON LUNCH

Usual tiring busy morning with lots of clients to meet, good for business, but stressfully challenging. At that moment I was counting and glancing my wrist watch all the time, couldn't wait till lunch time.
Smile was painted on my face when I found out that my colleaque had prepared large huge mixed salad for me (I said huge as it was meant for 4 servings, but I had it all for myself) YUMMY....it was just so perfect, I drizzled it with some light japanese soya sauce and 2tsp of virgin olive oil.. I was in the wonderland, my tummy was filled nicely. Oops..almost forgot my favourite.. KWAY CHI (roasted sunflower seeds).

Long lasting Best Fuel

For so many months I've been pondering and trying what breakfast I should have to fuel my run? whether is for 5K, 10K or even longer distance. Lots of variety and choices available in the market, but guess what not all is digested without a minor or major hiccups. Lots of ideas also available from diet books to runners' guide books and they are all very helpful, but personal liking is the one that causing difficulties into going to the right choice. I love my fruits for breakfast, they are great with lots of freshness not forgetting the vitamins in them, but they are so quickly ingested and digested, in less than an hour I can't feel the trace of them. It was the time that my friend happily spreading crunchy peanut butter on the multygrain flaxseed bread, simple but for me it didn't look appetising, but well my friend enjoyed it and kept on saying it was like heaven.. only God knows....
I muttered and since the bread was so fresh... hmmm no harm to try, not so sure how thick I should spread the peanut butter, I ended up putting a thick layer of it on a piece of that multygrain bread, hmmm, it was simply delicious especially that I'm not a peanut eater...the crunch added some kick into the soft buttery layer and with the multygrain flaxseed bread, it was just out of this world. It's solidly stay and make your tummy comfortable, well of course you can't eat too full prior your run. I put my thumbs up for this simple sandwich.
