New Balance Real Run 2008

My only comment: "WHAT A REAL RUN!"....
Very well organised event despite of a challenging one, the sun rays gave no mercy, the 4km trails was unexpectedely dusty, a bonus on the shady stretch of changi coastal road, an "oh no" slanting beach area - luckily just for a short distance, and a final strecht of open grill area of the runaway.
This kind of run is good to restructure our comfy dwelling mentality.
Got this picture of mine from the SGRUNNERS photos

Are we fit enough to test the F1 race route???

These faces have survived scorching heat in the attempt to go thru part of F1 race route. Equipped with only a pair of legs, they managed to overcome the twist and turn of the route, arrived back safely in the Finish Point (NSC-ECP)total distance 35km

LSD to the Zoo

The real gruelling training to the Manday Avenue.
We all started steadily to challenge the distance but the heat and the sloppy ground took the most of us. Congratulation to those who reached SengKang CC in 1 piece.

Swing KPE

The longest expressway tunnel in South East Asia, plus breaking the guiness of record
The run was stated with a bang. The first few kilometres was exciting, with disco lights and loud appealing music. but after the 3 kilometer we started feeling stuffy and the heat was creeping in to intoxicate. Ventilation system was on but it was hardly felt in the deeper part of the tunnel. Otherwise overal was well organized, considering it's a free registration.

MIZUNO WAVE RUN 2008 - 27 July 2008

Here we were gathering in the stadium track warming up for the track-road-gravel 10K Mizuno Run at Bedok Reservoir area. Light drizzle was shadowing this early Sunday Morning. The race went on without hiccups, most runners enjoyed the run, good cooling morning, eventhough the humidity was always there.

SHAPE RUN 2008 - 20 July 2008

Green save the earth!!!.... more than 8000 ladies, mostly dressed in lime green NIKE running vest were thronging the padang area, in Singapore central district awaiting for the official flag off horn of 10k and 5k ladies only run. The weather was trully great, along with the cheerleaders doing some jumping high and low, not to mentioned the fun powerful warm up with planet fitness instructors on both 10k and 15k stages.
The logistic provision was excellent too, runners got abundant supply of drinks, lots of fruits choice and big tent for massage - A real 2 thumbs up for the organizer.
Despite of my right knee misalignment injury I still managed to clock in a decent time for my rush 5K run (what to do, must rush home to prepare 4pm b'day party for my daughter).
Sally, I hope you really had a good run. Many thanks to Patrick, Haili and Jack for the support, even though you guys actually were companying your ladies. Ha ha ha ...but knowing 3 of you were there, was enough to boost my running morale. So sorry didn't look out for you guys at the finishing point, I went off immediately. Cheers....

THE RACES IN JUNE

ADIDAS SUNDOWN MARATHON (31 May 2008)

First nite run in Singapore, comprising marathon and ultramarathon. After a few sleepless nite training for this inaugural run, our runners crossed the finish line with a big smile, forgeting they were in debt of sleeping.

SAUCONY 100PLUS PASSION RUN 2008 (8 June 2008)

Great BIG event. Weather was breezy shady. Some of us was not joining this race as they ran the sundown marathon a week ago. I guess the complete rest was still needed.

LAGUNA PHUKET "RUN PARADISE" MARATHON (15 June 2008)

Holiday season, this is the chance for some of us to have fun holiday and run race at the same time. Very personalized and well organized race.

Cheering for fellow singaporean marathon runners
